Melting, drawing, annealing and inspection — four doors, one building.

Capability at a wire plant is not a document, it is the pass schedule. What follows is what is installed, what each stage controls, and where the honest limits of the plant sit.

Fine wire is not thick wire with more patience.

Going from 6.00 mm to 0.025 mm is a reduction in cross-section of roughly 58,000 to 1. It cannot be done in one pull — the wire would break. It is done in a long sequence of passes, and after several passes the metal has work-hardened to the point where it must be annealed before it can be drawn again.

So each fine diameter is really a recipe: how many passes, how much reduction per pass, when to stop and anneal, and to what temper. Get the recipe wrong and you lose the batch to breakage or to a diameter that drifts out of tolerance along the length. The recipe is the asset.

  • Reduction is scheduled pass by pass, not set once and left
  • Diameter and surface are checked between passes, not only at the end
  • Inter-pass annealing resets the work-hardened metal
  • Final furnace cycle sets the delivered temper (M / Y2 / Y)

Because pass count, scrap rate and throughput all move against you as the diameter falls, the conversion element of the price rises with fineness. As an illustration on pure nickel wire, the drawing and annealing charge rises from roughly RMB 400 / kg at 0.08 mm to roughly RMB 600 / kg at 0.05 mm. Indicative only — actual figures depend on quantity, temper and tolerance.

Multi-head drawing line — four of the six drawing lines at the plant are fine-wire lines.

What is controlled at each stage.

Stage What happens What is checked
01 · Incoming material Grade and batch number recorded; composition sampled before the material enters the furnace Grade identity, batch traceability, composition
02 · Melting & composition Vacuum melting, composition adjustment to the target window Final composition against grade specification and the customer technical agreement
03 · Drawing Multi-pass reduction from rod to the finished diameter Diameter per pass, surface condition, breakage and scrap rate
04 · Annealing Furnace cycles between passes and at the end of the run Temper consistency (M / Y2 / Y) along the length
05 · Final inspection Dimensional and mechanical verification, sample retained Diameter tolerance, surface, tensile strength and elongation; resistance per metre for resistance alloys
06 · Packing & documents Rewind to customer spools or coils, label, pack, issue documents Length / weight, labelling against the customer template, document set

Send us your material. We will only charge for the drawing.

If you already own the metal — or you need a specific heat held for a customer — we can draw on a toll basis. You supply the rod or intermediate wire, agree the finished diameter and temper, and we return it with the batch documentation.

  • Customer-supplied material drawn to an agreed finished specification
  • Batch kept separate with its own traceability record
  • Scrap and yield reported against the input weight
  • Useful for trial runs before committing to a purchase order
Drawing equipment used for toll drawing runs
Toll runs are scheduled on the same lines as production work.

Small quantities, packed to survive the journey.

Minimum order

Samples from 1 kg

First samples are supplied free of charge up to 0.5 kg — the customer covers the freight. Standard small production runs start at 5 kg; non-standard specifications can be sampled before a run is committed.

Lead time

3 – 7 days typical

Standard specifications are typically dispatched within 3 to 7 days. Non-standard or trial specifications usually take 7 to 15 days. Urgent requirements can be scheduled into the line on request.

Sample card

Grade, diameter, batch, resistance

Samples ship with a card recording grade, diameter, batch number and the measured resistance value, so a customer can verify the sample against the quotation before the production order is placed.

Packaging option Suited to Detail
Spools Fine wire, 0.025 – 0.5 mm Plastic or wooden spools; resists tangling and mechanical damage in transit
Coils Standard diameters 5 – 25 kg per coil, film-wrapped
Wooden case / pallet Full-pallet shipments Reinforced and marked to the customer's requirement
Labelling All shipments Grade, size, temper, batch number, net weight, production date — customer templates accepted

Standard pallet dimensions, gross weight limits and container loading plans are confirmed per shipment. See Export & logistics for documentation and customs information.

Ask whether your specification is feasible — before you commit.

Send the requirement and we will confirm what is achievable on the installed equipment, what tolerance we can hold, and what it would cost.
