Monel 400 Wire - Ni70Cu28, 0.10 to 6.00 mm

Monel 400 (Ni70Cu28) nickel-copper alloy wire, drawn from 0.10 mm to 6.00 mm. Specified where corrosion resistance matters more than conductivity: seawater, hydrofluoric acid, alkalis, chemical and nuclear-adjacent service.

Where this grade is specified.

  • Corrosion-resistant structural and fastening wire
  • Specialty welding wire for nickel-copper assemblies
  • Marine and seawater service
  • Chemical processing and nuclear-adjacent service
  • Pump, valve and heat-exchanger components

When Monel is the right call: when the environment is the specification. Monel resists seawater, hydrofluoric acid and alkalis and keeps its strength at moderate temperature. If conductivity or a specific resistance value is the priority instead, a copper-nickel NC grade is the better tool - Monel vs Cu-Ni comparison.

Stated plainly, not oversold.

Export note - nickel-containing material to the United States: assess California Prop 65 (metallic nickel is listed with no safe harbour). To the EU: observe REACH nickel release limits and the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), which applies from 2026-06-01 and requires an EU-based responsible person. Bare alloy wire is a raw material, not a finished electrical device, so UL / CSA / CE device marks do not apply to it. Composition, resistivity, TCR and thermal EMF are stated as nominal on this page and are confirmed by the inspection report issued with each shipment.
