Pure Nickel Wire - N4 / N6, drawn from 0.025 mm

Pure nickel wire in grades N6 (Ni200) and N4 (Ni201), drawn in soft, half-hard or hard temper from 0.025 mm to 6.00 mm. The standard lead material where an iron or steel lead would oxidise, scale and fail at temperature.

Where this grade is specified.

  • Heating-element and heating-tube lead wires
  • Electron tube, vacuum device and lamp leads
  • Electrodes and spark-plug components
  • Nickel mesh, woven cloth and battery current collectors
  • Corrosion-resistant parts

N4 or N6? N6 is the higher-purity grade: choose it where electrical conductivity and sealing to glass or ceramic matter most. N4 meets the general nickel specification at lower cost. Full comparison.

Why the lead matters: a cheaper lead material oxidises, scales and welds unreliably at temperature. Nickel seals well to glass and ceramic and holds its joint strength, which is why no downgraded substitute is offered on this line.

Stated plainly, not oversold.

Export note - nickel-containing material to the United States: assess California Prop 65 (metallic nickel is listed with no safe harbour). To the EU: observe REACH nickel release limits and the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), which applies from 2026-06-01 and requires an EU-based responsible person. Bare alloy wire is a raw material, not a finished electrical device, so UL / CSA / CE device marks do not apply to it. Composition, resistivity, TCR and thermal EMF are stated as nominal on this page and are confirmed by the inspection report issued with each shipment.
